Remove Third Party Antivirus before Kaspersky Installation

You must have seen some files of your previous installed antivirus program remain on your device. This software might interfere with the installation of Kaspersky program. But before that, you need to delete the antivirus software properly.

By Using Microsoft Windows Tools

For deleting the antivirus software by using regular Microsoft Windows Tools:

1. Go to ‘Programs and Features’ on your device. 
   
   
   If you are using Windows Vista/ Windows 7-
   
   
   • On the left side of the computer screen, tap on ‘Start’ and then choose ‘Control Panel’. 
   • Tap on ‘Uninstall a program’ from ‘Control Panel’.
   
   
   Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10-
   
   
   • Tap on ‘Start’ and then select ‘Control Panel’ from the lower left side of the computer screen. 
   • In Windows 8, you are required to move the pointer towards the lower side left corner of the computer screen. Wait till you see pop up ‘Start’ screen appearing. Right, click on it. 


2. Choose the app and tap on ‘Uninstall’ or ‘Change’ from the ‘Programs and Features’ window.


3. Restart the computer system.


4. You can use regular Microsoft Windows tools after deleting the antivirus software program. You will notice some of the folders and files are not removed properly.


5. You can check the ‘Program Files’ folder and remove folders and files of previously installed antivirus program if you are able to find any.
6. After removal, again try to install Kaspersky antivirus software on your device.
